Today in class...

I decided what I want to do with my life. I have made it my personal goal to follow in the footsteps of Daniel Levain and become an Entertainment Operations Manager at Disney Hollywood Studios.



I feel so empowered knowing what I want to do and knowing that making it happen is a very close reality.

My life thus far

I live is Disney World (yes, still). I’ve been doing the Disney College Program since June 7 of this year. Yeah, trust me….I can’t believe time has past this fast. I feel like I just checked in! A lot has changed. Yes, I’m still working at the same place (Hollywood Studios, Merchandise, Sunset/Animation Courtyard) And not only have I advanced A LOT, but I went from needing a role model to ask every single little question to (I choose Allison, a past CP, because managers always called her the leader of us little cp kids) to actually surpassing her when she went away for a few weeks. Not only did we get trained together to do something only 2 of us CP’s were trained to do, but today at work….she asked ME a question. Crazy, I know. So other than that, I have a new (and improved) roommate. Her name is Abby and not only is she really clean (thank goodness!!) but we get along really well! I still live with Allison and Mindy (which they are still fantastic roommates). And YES, I have applied for extension. I ranked my role choices as: 1. Photopass Photographer (something I have always wanted to do, don’t ask me why), 2. Character Attendant (okay, not my top choice…but I need to start getting myself into the entertainment world within Disney so I can advance in my future career with Disney), and 3. Character Performer (auditions are this Wednesday! Wish me luck) So hopefully I am one of the lucky ones who get to stay in this magical place. So I will leave you with some pictures and say goodnight.

In Orlando, working for Disney World? lol No, I'm not...we've been broken up for like, 2 months...where have you been? I miss my family. And I am seeing them in two weeks and couldn't be happier! If it isn't brought up or I'm not reminded by it, I don't think about it. The so far so good part, I guess means it's working for me? I don't remember stating this. Whoever you are, we must not be close anymore I'm guessing?

I used to go after a lot, but not so much anymore. I've only gone before once.

My paycheck ranges from $115-175 per week, after rent has been taken out. It's smart to come here with about $300 because you won't get your first paycheck for about 2 weeks.

why did you leave FAU? and how did you hear about the disney program? what made you want to pursue it?

I left FAU because I was accepted into the Disney College Program and it's not a chance that comes around every day. I've known about it for a while but a lot of my friends were talking about applying, so I figured why not? Working for Disney is something that I have always wanted to do, getting accepted into the program was just my motivation into doing it now instead of later.

Magic Kingdom, by far. You can capture so many amazing shots from different perspectives there. I plan to go roam around and take random pictures sometime soon.

Hey everyone!
How are you all doing? Good I hope!! So let's update...

First off, I turned 21 over the weekend (: I had an amazing birthday, one of the best I've ever had. Thank you to all my DCP friends who wished me a happy AND safe birthday.

Second, yesterday a bunch of people checked-in! Since I'm in a tight group of DCPers that literally go on a Skype voice chat EVERY night (usually until as late as 4 or 5 am), I got a first hand look at both Patterson and Chatham apartments. My amazing friends were kind enough to give me a quick tour! Unfortunately, since about 5 or 6 of my groups Skype chat friends checked-in last night, we have a lot less people in our chats!! And lastly, guess where I'm going to be driving in only just an hour? That's right....Disney!! Since I'm 21 now, I'm going to finally get to do "drinking around the world". I'm excited, It's going to be so fun! So today, my little sister in my sorority (who is also doing the program, just doesn't check-in until august) decided that we wanted to dedicate today to meeting DCP friends and visitng the apartments! I'm really excited that I'm going to get this chance. So far, I'm going to 2 different apartments inside Patterson, and one in Chatham. Sorry Vista friends...my friend from high school that I wassss going to visit that is living there got termed yesterday!! I'm honestly really upset about this, I was REALLY looking forward to seeing him again. Anyways, never fear, I got a flip! camera for my birthday from my mom!! So I'm going to do a video tour of my own of all 3 apartments that I visit. If you have any questions or anything specific about their rooms, just comment below! What's the one thing you're nervous about regarding your Disney internship?

I've never live more than 30 minutes away from home and I get homesick very easily. So I'm nervous about that. I'm going to miss my 7 year old brother more than anyone...it's very hard being away from him for long periods of time...he's my little sunshine <3

I'M ACCEPTED!!

I got my e-mail at no joke, 5:02am...I just so happened to be awake. I FREAKED OUT!! So I start reading my invite, and this is what I see....



So, basically...there are two problems with this e-mail.
First: It doesn't say my role!! It only says that I was accepted as a cast member! Where is says how much I will be paid, it also does not say my role.
Second: It says I was accepted for fall advantage and I said I couldn't do advantage.

So I'm really worried now. I talked to my mom, and she said if worse comes to worse, we can switch a bunch of dates around and I will just go the latest check-in date, which I believe is June 14th. But then that messes up my roommate situation! My best friend is going to be my roommate and she isn't checking in until the 18th of August!! So I'm going to call that number my interviewer gave me in case I had any questions...The office doesn't open until 8am. So since I was so anxious and can't sleep anyway, I'm just going to wait and call and try and get it all worked out.

So until I know the outcome, I only know that I was accepted. Which is still AMAZING news (:

Mean Girls, Disney style?

The waiting game...

It's day 7....one full week since my interview. I want more than anything for it to just come already!! Not gonna lie, whenever I get an e-mail, my poor little heart FREAKS out! I'm not sure if this happened to any of you guys, but ever since I applied, I've been in an even more obsessive Disney mood than normal. I have sudden urges to watch the movies and listen to a bunch of disney songs. I like it. It sort of feels as if suddenly I notice Disney more. For example, when I go to dinner, if a little girl is wearing a Disney shirt, I notice it quicker than I used to in the past. It's like my Disney senses are in full force. I've never noticed how much Disney is around us. I LOVE IT!

My interview: I think it went really well. I got the phone call 29 minutes earlier than my time. So needless to say, I was freaking more than anything. My interviewer was named Diane and she made me feel very comfortable, like I was talking to a friend. It helped A LOT. She pushed Character Attendant, Attractions, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Hostess, and Costuming most. Which I was a little surprised about. I made sure to bring up that I really wanted to do Photopass Photographer as well. I've been told it's hard to get that, but I figured, why not?! If anyone wants to know more about my interview, just ask (: I'd be happy to share all the details from it!

Anyway, I've gotten to know a lot of the already accepted CP's through the facebook group and so far EVERYONE is awesome!! I cannot wait to find out what the result is! I will keep everyone updated!
